I started my work career in the family business, a local Ampol, service station. This began at age 12, with after school stints pumping petrol.
Over the early years, I worked in and around the Automotive industry, then making a move to study and work in engineering, both mechanical and civil.
I worked for 4 years at the now decommissioned, Southern Aluminum wheel plant. Progressing from unskilled worker to senior team member with a range of skills including CNC machining and programming, and Supervisory experience.
Then returning to study and employment as an Engineering Draftsman.
In later years, a passion to peruse a more creative bent, I began study in 'graphic design and multimedia'. This then led to teaching at TAFE TAS and working in the 'creative industries' area.
I worked for a number of e-learning companies, culminating with the establishment of my own business, 'Aptitude media'. I worked closely with one of Australia’s leading e-learning specialists, Dr Marcus Bowles, working on many interesting projects including online courses for the AMC.
Most recently I have been working as a 'Participation Assistant' at TAS TAFE, and teaching metalwork, automotive and graphic design at 'City Campus Launceston'.
